Executive Director’s Welcome

Welcome to The Steward's Staff.  I invite you to visit, explore, and then—engage!

The Steward's Staff is here to serve you.  Our mission is to equip individuals through leadership development, community engagement, and positive re-enforcement of self-awareness and/ or esteem.  By achieving this, we believe that our communities will be several steps closer to achieving a unified world.

Our society realizes the need of higher education, and widely, opportunity for advancement in higher education is available.  However, in addition to higher education, our youth and many of our adults have a need for greater interpersonal development and connection.  This is the area in which The Steward's Staff will make a difference for you.

We seek to develop and implant leaders in the community whom are aware of the social issues concerning various segments of society and concerned with becoming engaged to make a positive impact.  Community engagement is like compound interest, the earlier you start the greater your return on the investment will be, and naturally, your investment does most of the work for you.  If I reach out to one person, and in turn that person reaches out to another person and the process continues to spread, our communities will reap the benefits of interpersonal enrichment and nurturing.

I recall there was a time when if there was someone without food or shelter, it was a neighborhood concern.  If there was an unruly child, relationships in the community existed which afforded a neighbor to reprimand the inappropriate behavior exhibited by the child.  For example, I remember as a child, staying with my grandmother in Chattanooga, TN. and during one of my visits I threw a rock and almost hit a car.  The car stopped and scolded, “You put that rock down.  You’re Alfreda’s grandson, and I know she doesn’t want you throwing rocks!”  I didn’t know the woman, but she knew me.  More importantly for me at that time, she knew my grandmother.

People got involved.  People engaged one another out of concern and love.

Our organization aims to fill that interpersonal void in our society through engaging the community in our programs and services.  We want to help connect people to themselves, one another, and the community-at-large in a productive, healthy manner.

The college experience prepares individuals for their careers and offers networking opportunities.  However, many graduate with significant debt and just as many graduate lacking the skills necessary to formulate and/ or engage healthy relationships.  If this is what college graduates suffer, think of those who do not attend college.  The Steward’s Staff addresses these concerns through equipping individuals with applicable social skills through community engagement and coaching.

As a result, The Steward's Staff believes once people take advantage of our services, there will be individuals more content with themselves, more effective leaders and greater connected communities.  As you feel led, join us in addressing many of the social concerns of our society.  Please sign the guest book and sign up to receive an e-newsletter.
